Hotel California

This is the title song from the Eagle's album of the same name and was released as a single in early 1977. The song top the BillBoard Hot 100 for one week in May 1977, and won the Grammy award for Record of the Year 1978. The song is rated highly in many rock music lists and polls. Rolling Stone magazine placed it as the 49 greatest song for all time. It is also one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 song that Shaped Rock and Roll. The song's guitar solo is ranked 8th on Guitar Magazine's Top 100 Guitar Solos.

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy, and my sight grew dimmer
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself,
'This could be Heaven or this could be Hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor, I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year, you can find it here
Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, She got the Mercedes Benz

She's got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget
So I called up the Captain, 'Please bring me my wine'
He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here since 1969'
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...
Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely Place (such a lovely face)
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling, the pink champagne on ice
And she said 'We are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
And in the master's chambers, they gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
'Relax' said the nightman, We are programed to recieve.
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave

Rythm of the rain

Author & presenter: cascade

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool
I've beenI wish that it would go and let me cry in vain
And let me be alone again

The only girl I care about has gone away
Looking for a brand new start
But little does she know that when she left that day
Along with her she took my heart

Rain, please tell me know does that seem fair
For her to steal my heart away when she don't care
I can't love another
When my heart's somewhere far away

Rain, won't you tell her that I love her so
Please ask the sun to set her heart aglow
Rain, in her heart
And let the love we knew start to grow

Oh, listen to the falling rain.
Pitter-patter pitter-patter, woo
Listen, listen to the falling rain
Pitter-patter pitter-patter, woo

My heart will go on - Céline Dion

"My Heart Will Go On" is Céline Dion's biggest hit and one of the best-selling singles in history. It reached number 1 all over the world and on the United World Chart. Although in the U.S. it debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed in that position for 2 weeks, it spent 10 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay. It was also number 1 for 2 weeks on the Hot 100 Singles Sales. Only a limited number of copies were released - 687,000 - which were sold out in a few weeks. The single was eventually certified gold in the U.S.

Every night in my dreamsI see you. I feel you. That is how I know you go on.Far across the distanceAnd spaces between usYou have come to show you go on.Near, far, wherever you areI believe that the heart does go onOnce more you open the doorAnd you're here in my heartAnd my heart will go on and onLove can touch us one timeAnd last for a lifetimeAnd never go till we're one
Love was when I loved youOne true time I hold toIn my life we'll always go onNear, far, wherever you areI believe that the heart does go onOnce more you open the doorAnd you're here in my heartAnd my heart will go on and onThere is some love that will notgo awayYou're here, there's nothing I fear,And I know that my heart will go onWe'll stay forever this wayYou are safe in my heartAnd my heart will go on and on

Celine Dion feat BeeGee

So this is who I am,
And this is all I know,
And I must choose to live,
For all that I can give,
The spark that makes the power grow
And I will stand for my dream if I can,
Symbol of my faith in who I am,
But you are my only,
And I must follow on the road that lies ahead,
I won't let my heart control my head,
But you are my only
We don't say goodbye,
We don't say goodbye,
And I know what I've got to be

I make my journey through eternity
I keep the memory of you and me inside

Fulfil your destiny,
Is there within the child,
My storm will never end,
My fate is on the wind,
The king of hearts, the joker's wild,
But we don't say goodbye,
We don't say goodbye,
I'll make them all remember me

Cos I have found a dream that must come true,
Every once of me must see it through,
But you are my only
I'm sorry I don't have a role for love to play,
Hand over my heart I'll find my way,
I will make them give to me

Immortality (oh baby)
There is a vision and a fire in me (ohh)
I keep the memory of you and me, inside
we don't say goodbye
With all my love for you
And what else we may do
We don't say, goodbye

Cry on my shoulder

Someone said to me that the shoulder is important part of people, because only a reason, that is a position where your lover could lean on when they cry...

Cry on my shoulder

If the hero never comes to you
If You need someone You"re feeling blue
If You wait for loving when You"re alone
If You call Your friends nobody"s home
You can runaway but You can"t hide
Through storm and through the lonely night
Then I show You there"s a destiny
The best thing in life
They are free

But if You wanna cry, cry on my shoulder
If You need someone who cares for You
If You"re feeling sad Your heart get"s colder
Yes I show You what will love can do

If the sky is grey or latch Me know
There"s a place in heaven where We"ll go
If heaven is a million years away
Oh, just call Me and I make Your day
When the nights are getting cold and blue
When the days are getting hot for you
I will always stay here by Your side
I promise You, I"ll never hide

(chorus 2 times)

Jimmy please say you'll wait for me
I'll grow up some day you'll see
saving all my kisses just for you
signed with love forever true

Joni was the girl who lived next door
I've known her I guess 10 years or more
Joni wrote me a note one day
and this is what she had to say

Jimmy please say you'll wait for me
I'll grow up some day you'll see
saving all my kisses just for you
signed with love forever true

Slowly I read her note once more
then I went over to the house next door
her tear drops fell like rain that day
when I told Joni what I had to say

Joni, Joni please don't cry
you'll forget me by and by
you're just 15, I'm 22
and Joni I just can't wait for you

Soon I left our little home town
got me a job and tried to settle down
but these words kept haunting my memory
the words that Joni said to me

Jimmy please say you'll wait for me
I'll grow up some day you'll see
saving all my kisses just for you
signed with love forever true

I packed my clothes and I caught a plane
I had to see Joni, I had to explain
how my heart was filled with her memory
and asked my Joni if she'd marry me

I ran all the way to the house next door
but things weren't like they were before
my tear drops fell like rain that day
when I heard what Joni had to say

Jimmy, Jimmy please don't cry
you'll forget me by and by
it's been 5 years since you've been gone
Jimmy I married your best friend John.

Can you hear me ?

Here's To Ben - Jacintha

Jacintha's U.S. debut is a tribute to the legendary tenor saxophone player: Ben Webster. The songs have been specially selected to reflect this premise, i.e. they are mostly great vocal standards and/or ballads that have been recorded by Webster many times and are thus associated with his particular style and name. Some of these songs like "Stardust," "How Long Has This Been Going On," "Georgia," "Our Love Is Here To Stay" and "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" are Webster classics.

This recording is all analog, direct to two-track. The recording was made on an ATR-100 tape machine with BASF 900 1/4-inch high-resolution tape running at 30 inches per second. Only vintage microphones were used, including the Neumann M-49 tube microphone set-up for Jacintha's voice. The other microphones used included Neumann M-50 and U-47. The recording and mastering cabling for this session was supplied by AudioQuest. Mastered by Bernie Grundman direct from the original analog masters on his tube-driven Sculley cutting lathe.
